Keep the Debate Going!

DebateGraph provides interesting software to generate ideas and further discussions. They have a cool example of the great anthropogenic climate change debate here. This tool could be utilized in both an academic environment as well as conveying information to the general public. I find the interface pretty simple and clever. They claim to be 'mak[ing] the best ideas and arguments on all sides of any contentious public issue freely available to all and continuously open to challenge and improvement by all.' The mapped discussion is based on data from the 2009 UN Climate Change Conference and is part of a wider online collective intelligence project, ESSENCE – being organized by Debategraph, the Open University and MIT and supported by the World Federation of UN Associations – focused on the United Nation’s Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in December 2009 and beyond.
